He has a BA (Liberal Arts) from St. John's College in Santa Fe, and an MS (Applied Mechanics) and Ph.D. (Environmental Sciences) from the University of Virginia. Dr. Larom has published in journals as diverse as Impact Mechanics, Experimental Biology, Acoustical Society of America and Animal Psychology. He spent eight years as a Senior Engineer and Product Manager at Qualcomm, Inc, and now lectures at San Diego State University, teaching courses like Our Global Future, Asian Environmental Issues, and Food Justice and Food Security.
