About the Author
Anthony “Prem” Carlisi was born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1955. He began his Ashtanga journey at the young age of 23, in 1978, when Guruji was teaching in Encinitas, California for 6 months. The following year marked his initial trip to Mysore, India where he studied Advanced A; currently known as third and fourth series. Prem was in the first group of western students to show up on Guruji’s doorstep in Mysore. He is considered one of the oldest practitioners of the method, along with the likes of David Williams, Norman Allen, David Swenson, Nancy Gilgoff and Tim Miller. In the past thirty years, Prem has spent four of them studying and traveling all over India. In February of 2005, Prem was officially Certified by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, as a senior Ashtanga Teacher. This title enables him to teach the Primary, Intermediate, Advanced A series and the Pranayama sequence of Ashtanga yoga. (Certification is different from Authorization; Authorized teachers are only allowed to teach the Primary series). As a certified teacher, Prem has the ability to communicate and pass on all aspects of the Ashtanga method to the next generation of yogis, with Guruji’s blessing. In addition to Prem’s studies of Ashtanga yoga, he has also done in depth Ayurvedic study with the reknowned Ayurvedic practitioner, Dr. Vasant Lad. In 1983, he initiated a 3 year course with Dr. Lad and was certified to do consultations and clinical work. Prem has also done courses with Dr. David Frawley and Dr. Robert Svoboda. He uses the Ayurvedic principles in his own life, through diet, practice and lifestyle choices.. Prem’s interest in Tantra began in the mid-eighties, but it wasn’t until several years later that he began to study it further. He feels that Tantra is the next natural progressive step to those exploring the vedic traditions and feels it completes the synergy of the Ashtanga, Ayurveda and Tantra systems. Prem continues his own independent studies, experimentation and ongoing exploration of these three sciences.

Enjoyable and humorous read, even for people new to yoga!

As a beginner to yoga, a friend suggested this book to me. I was reluctant to read it at first, but once I started, I couldn't put it down! Since then, it has turned me on to a lot of new ideas and I am excited to learn more about all three topics.

Refreshing new look at Yoga, Ayurveda and Tantra

The Only Way Out Is In, is a refreshing new look at yoga, ayurveda and tantra. It is not a typical dull yoga book. The author shares his own personal insights into the practice and keeps it available for anybody to read and understand. It is an easy read, yet has alot of depth. His life story is also very revealing and intriguing, he's not afraid to share with his readers the challenges he has encountered on and off the mat.

Perfect for the advancing student to learn to play with taste, power, and speed.

The Mendelssohn family was wealthy from its banking interests. They produced two wonderful prodigies in the same generation: Felix, who went on to become one of the world's great musicians, composers, pianists, and conductors. But his older sister, Fanny, was also a brilliant musician and composer. However, because she was both female and from a wealthy family, it was considered unseemly for her to have a public career. Felix did help promote some of her works. Learning her story is quite interesting, as is taking time to understand the deep love between Fanny and Felix. They each died young of strokes and Felix only about six months after Fanny.

Felix was one of the truly great child prodigies the Western musical world has ever known. He ranks with the more famous Mozart. And unlike most child prodigies, he actually matured into a greater musician than he was as a child. While he was popular throughout the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, after World War II, his reputation underwent revision for the worse, but shows signs of a just revival. I have always loved his music and admire him endlessly.

Felix composed this brilliant work when he was just fifteen and it has been a staple for students and some performers ever since. It is worth learning and performing. Students can gain a great deal by learning it. The Andante invites a sense of tone and drama that must be expressed without going over the top, as young people are wont to do.

The Presto leggiero is a terrific opportunity for a student to learn to play very fast with lightness and control. What is very nice about this work is that the music repeats in a way that allows the student to learn the work and master the technique without have to learn oceans of material.

In other words, the advancing student will be challenged and invited to improve without being crushed under the weight and demands of the work.

This is a terrific edition and I recommend it strongly as I do all Henle editions.

superb critique of the current corporate sustainability trend

I have been a follower and even a proponent of corporate sustainability strategy for a number of years. This book provides a cogent and important counterpoint to an increasingly strong line of thinking that we can have win-win solutions to environmental problems. I teach in the business school and have earned a graduate degree in business and I have a background in environmental science. I would say that the authors cautioning of the true motivations of corporations and we can realistically expect them to accomplish is well-founded and we should all keep it closeon the long road ahead. Without a doubt, sustainable future is not possible without corporations and big brands being a critical part of it and integrating sustainability into their business strategy and operations. But we must see that as just one part of a more holistic transformation that must involve nongovernmental organizations, civil society, government, our school systems, etc.

I would strongly recommend this book and after having read many corporate sustainability books, I think it stands alone in its critique of sustainability strategy in business. It is a cautionary tale and a very important one.

A little repetitive and confused

Are the authors for eco-business or not? They certainly make it very clear in the beginning that they are not for the big brand takeover of eco-business, but then continue to expound upon the positive effects of big brand take over of eco-business. Very quick and easy read with nifty facts tucked into each chapter on big brand takeover, but it does leave you feeling hollow and unconvinced of the authors' prognosis.

Enjoyable Bonus

Lyndsey McCord works the night shift for ARC Security & Investigation as a transcriber. It's been 3 months and the elusive Nate Caldwell (one of the three owners) catches her distributing files and demands to know who she is & what she's doing there. Nate convinces her to assist him with a "fidelity" case and they have to pretend to be married which forces them to became up close and a little personal. After the assignment is over, Lyndsey knows what she wants-she's been fantasizing about him for months but she leaves it up to Nate to decide whether they can have more than an employee/employer relationship. Nate enjoyed spending the weekend with Lyndsey but doesn't do "relationships", plus he is her BOSS.
Lyndsey is an independent & intelligent character who realizes that her time with Nate may be short but would rather have him on a short-term basis than not at all. Nate knows Lyndsey is not his type but he just can't seem to drag up enough willpower to resist her.

Great book!

I will not write a lot, because English is my second language. I just tell you that this is one of my favorite romance book for this year so far! Hero was so adorable, and heroine was sweet, but still very strong and independant. I enjoed this story very much.

Lyndsey a pretend or real wife?

What an introduction to the Behind Closed Doors series! The 3 partners of ARC Security & Investigations are best friends and work well together. Nate Caldwell has to have a pretend wife on very short notice and the transcriber Lyndsey McCord is the only one available. Having never met before this one encounter is going to be a nerve-wracking situation they have to act as a married couple who are domestic help. Both our hero and heroine are wounded and very lonely people reading their story of slowly reaching out to each other for their HEA is a wonderful, feel good story! About the Author
Nancy Norbeck wrote her first story when she was in fourth grade, and began to take writing seriously in high school. After teaching writing to English as a Second Language students for several years, she enrolled in Goddard College’s MFA in creative writing program, which she completed in 2009. THE SILVER CHILD is her first novel. She currently works as a writing and creative process coach. She lives in New Jersey and loves to travel, especially via a good book. Not Just for Young Adults!

This is listed as "young adult" but as an "older adult" I found so much here that touched my inner imagination as well as my heart. I thoroughly enjoyed this and as another reviewer said, I couldn't put it down. We were on a bus trip to Montreal when I started reading this and had to tear myself away every day to get off of the bus! I found myself caring deeply for the main characters of Maia and Martus, and was pulling for them both through the entire book. There is just enough magic here to make the plot seem purely magical rather than far-fetched (as I so often find in books about future times).

This is a great story that is well written. It is fast paced with interesting and intriguing characters. I didn't want to put it down. I'm adding this book to my list of books to reread.

Enjoyed it very much

Ms. Norbeck has a gift for pulling you into a story and you just have to keep reading to find out what is going to happen next to the characters. I thought the concept was clever and I was able to picture the scenes very cearly in my imagination. When's the next one coming??
